So Shall You Reap

I may have a serious case of whiplash after reading this book! This is classified as a thriller, but it read more like horror to me!

Belle Jackson is one of the original vigilantes, seeking justice for a wrong that was done to her. But she has convinced her devoted husband, Harvey, that they are ridding the world of predators. But because of their notoriety, they decide to live deep within Superior National Forest, in an area that is off-limits to most people. They raise a family, and their legacy continues.

Years later, five teenagers decide to rob a bank to help one of their dads pay off staggering medical bills. Something goes horribly wrong, and as they take off in their getaway car, they’re stopped by a police officer. When the girls make up a sob story, he tells them the best place to hide is in the bowels of Superior National Forest.

While these two stories seemed disjointed at first, they intersect in the most alarming and gruesome way. And when the twists come, they don’t stop.

There were podcast chapters interspersed that didn’t seem necessary, but perhaps were included to make the book appear relevant.

I loved the nod to Freida McFadden (IYKYK)!
